5 Upcoming SEO Trends

SEO is incredibly important for business discovery and brand awareness. It is an essential part of any marketing plan. However, SEO can be constantly changing so it’s equally important that your brand keeps up with the emerging trends to ensure you can easily be found online.

Here is our guide to the upcoming trends that SEO is facing this coming season.

1. Consider User SEO Intent

Keywords and SEO go hand in hand when it comes to your brand being seen online. Determine what results your customers is expecting when they type in the keywords they use. Do you come up? If not, why and how can you ensure you do with different keywords?

2. Use Voice Search SEO

As we’ve mentioned before, you cannot ignore the increasing popularity of voice search. 50% of searches will be voice conducted via Alexa, Siri or Google Home. Focus on the questions your audience is asking and try to answer them to ensure you are top of the search results.

3. Think Beyond Google’s SEO

SEO doesn’t just have to concern Google. Think about optimising your site for the second biggest search engine, YouTube. Or, look towards Amazon if you are an eCommerce company. This season we will see businesses having to increasingly optimise their sites for other platforms and apps, so make sure that you’re ahead of the game.

4. Technical SEO

Ensure you have optimised your URL structure, JavaScript code and structured data so that it is easier for search engines to crawl your website. With your technical SEO up to scratch, you will be at the top of the search engine results in no time.

5. Loading Time

As we’ve previously mentioned website loading time is incredibly important for determining your SEO. However, this season Google is placing more and more importance on mobile site loading times when recommending sites in the search results. Therefore, work on shortening the time it takes for your website to load on mobile to under 3 seconds. We are impatient on customers, so if your site takes too long to load customers will cancel the search, and Google will see your site as unimportant. Therefore, the longer you take to load the further down the search results you will be.
