10 Ways to Improve Your Website Conversion Rates

Are you looking for ways to ensure that your website converts organic traffic into sales and genuine leads? If so, we’ve investigated the design factors that are well known to lower your bounce rate and increase conversions.

Here are our top tips for what should be on your page from the top down!

1. Secure your Website

First things first, look at your search bar results and HTTP link. Is your site secure? If it is it will have a little padlock icon. This is great as your customer can easily see your site is safe and will feel confident to proceed or even buy off your site.

2. Create Engaging headers

Now your customers on your site, ensure they want to read on. Create clear headers that engage your reader. However, refuse the temptation to create clickbait headers that will annoy your readers when they read on and don’t find a copy that relates to that clickable header!

3. Engaging CTA Buttons

Add a call-to-action button to your website that your readers can click on and find out more. 90% of the visitors who read the header will also read the CTA. Ensure that your CTAs aren’t boring and TOP TIP don’t use the word “submit”. We find that customers won’t click on the link if this word is there as it implies they are required to provide unnecessary or private information or extra work for them.

4. Add Credibility To Your Website

Add a link or logo from a supplier or well-known magazine to your website. This adds credibility to your article and reminds your readers that you are a trusted source, this way they stay on your page and read on. REMEMBER: B2B buyers love the ‘safe bet’ company!

5. Short and Sweet

End your copy here! Keep articles short and sweet by using short sentences and subheadings so your reader can glance over the text on your website, taking away the key information.

6. Embed a Video

You’re using videos here, which is great. However, ensure they are correctly embedded. If you’re embedding videos from YouTube ensure that you remove the “related videos” option, as you don’t want your visitors watching other companies’ videos from your website.

7. Add Reviews

Your audience trust genuine and personal reviews, so add them to your website. 90% of buying decisions are influenced by reviews. Therefore, a testimonial or quote about a product or service could be the thing that encourages your audience to go ahead with the purchase.

8. Website Chat Options

If your customer has a question or wants to start the buying journey, you need to ensure they are clear on their options straight away. Install a chatbot feature, from which your customer can have FAQs answered, or get in touch with a sales representative to start buying from you. These bots are great as they are available 24/7 (if you set up FAQs). 44% of people say live chat with a real person is the most important feature on a website so don’t ignore this important add-on.

9. Get Rid of Unnecessary Forms

Resist the urge to have too many forms. A customer will potentially sign-up to one form per session so any more than that is just annoying for your website visitor. Also, keep forms short and sweet, asking for only the most necessary information!

10. Add Your Socials

Finally, finish the webpage on your website by adding your social media links. This gives your audience a way to keep in touch and see what you’re posting day-to-day. Keeping buttons at the bottom also ensure that the visitor has the opportunity to read the whole article, before leaving to see what social media your brand has to offer!
